Earlier this year, we announced a major evolution for Android’s business model, introducing more billing options, lower fees, and additional programs for developers. After hearing positive feedback from Japanese developers, including Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., LY Corporation, MIXI, Inc. and PONOS Corp., and consulting with the Japan Fair Trade Commission, we have some exciting news: we are fast-tracking the rollout for Japan.
Instead of waiting until the end of the year, Japanese developers – and other developers monetising apps in Japan – will get access to reduced fees and increased flexibility by September 30, 2026. This makes Japan one of the first markets to benefit from our new business model, and reflects our deep commitment to developer growth and success.
We are also continuing to move forward with our first-of-its-kind Registered App Stores program that further streamlines the installation process for app stores that meet key safety criteria. This remains on track for a December 31, 2026 launch.
今年の初め、私たちは Android のビジネス モデルの更新を発表し、デベロッパー向けにより多くの課金オプション、手数料の引き下げ、および追加のプログラムを導入することをお知らせしました。
株式会社バンダイナムコエンターテインメント、ポノス株式会社、株式会社MIXI、LINEヤフー株式会社をはじめとする日本のデベロッパーの皆様からの前向きなフィードバックを受け、さらに公正取引委員会との協議も踏まえ、日本での展開時期を前倒しする運びとなりました。当初予定していた本年末を待つことなく、日本のデベロッパー、ならびに日本市場でアプリを収益化しているデベロッパーの方々は、2026 年 9 月 30 日までに引き下げられた手数料と、より柔軟な課金オプションをご利用いただけるようになります。これにより、日本は新しいビジネスモデルを先行してご活用いただける市場の 1 つとなります。これは、デベロッパーの皆様の成長と成功を後押ししていくという Google の確固たる姿勢を示すものです。
なお、安全性に関する主要な基準を満たすアプリストアのインストール手順を簡素化する、初の試みとなる「登録済みアプリストア向けプログラム」についても引き続き準備を進めております。本プログラムにつきましては、予定通り 2026 年 12 月 31 日の提供開始となる予定です。
